Default one workout one exercise

hi, ive been really busy recently and i have my own gym in my spare room, sometime i can only fit in minumal amount for my workout, last nyt i could ony do 5 sets to failure of bench for my chest day, now ill be doing more tonight to make up for it and probably throw in my shoulders aswel but i was wondering, could i still gain muscle mass from doing the odd exercise hereand there throughout the day or say just 2exercises 5sets in each to failure ever time, whats the crac? will this benifit me in anyway?

I am not sure..but I think whatever you can do with good form is better than nothing!!!
